There were Doritos, but only a small quantity, while 3 refrigerated cases were devoted to fresh sandwiches, another to yogurt, fruit and salads. This country has amazing FOOD! Why do we settle for less?

Car Food
This is only a sample of the food available in the average car rest stop on the highway/toll road. There were Doritos, but only a small quantity, while 3 refrigerated cases were devoted to fresh sandwiches, another to yogurt, fruit and salads. This country has amazing FOOD! Why do we settle for less?

Oh, it all sounds so delicious! And it's not just France. In Switzerland, driving the autobahns, we ate delicous rosti (crispy potato pancakes) with several choices of savory toppings. In Italy, the reststops on the autostrada looked like Mass. Turnpike fast food stops, but had cafe (espresso) and fresh pastries just like those in the cafe-bars in Italian towns. Contrast that to Burger King and Denny's here in the good ol' USA!
